Financial irregularity in Hatadihi Tehsil: Lokayukta orders probe

Bhubaneswar, April 29: Odisha Lokayukta has ordered a probe into financial irregularity in Hatadihi Tehsil under Keonjhar district. Acting on the complaint of Himanshu Sekhar Nayak, the Lokayukta has directed the district administration to submit report on the matter. According to the complaint, a tractor carrying minerals was imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 by the Tehsildar on July 12,2019. On the other hand, only Rs 4000 was deposited to the tehsil treasury by the Tehsildar. Meanwhile, Himanshu Sekhar Nayak filed a complaint before the Lokayukta in this connection. Lokayukta has directed the Colletor and the Additional Tehsildar to submit records on the matter. On April 26, counsel for district administration represented records before the Lokayukta. At the same time Himanshu submitted the proof on gross irregularity in the office. In contrary, the Ayukta has asked the Tehsildar to put forth his views on June 9 on the allegation levelled against him.
