Bhubaneswar, Oct 26: Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) University’s Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Siddha Development Research and Consultancy jointly organized a farmers’ workshop here on Tuesday.
Speaking at the workshop, Krishan Veer Singh, Vice President of Origo Commodities India Pvt Ltd said that the farmers should work together to increase productivity. “Community farming will promote harvest and facilitate adequate marketing of the agro-products,” Singh.
The inaugural meeting of the workshop was attended by the Dean of Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS) Prof Vijay Kumar Sahu, the Dean (PG) Prof Premananda Mohapatra, Dean (Student Welfare) Prof Jyoti Ranjan Das, the Additional Dean (Research) Priyabrat Patnaik, Livelihood Alternatives chairman Sambit Tripathy, and SDRC chairman Ratnakar Panigrahi.
In the second half of the meeting, Bhavya Anand, Branch Manager, NAFED, Jagadish Pradhan, Chairman of the Partnership Development Campaign, gave a brief overview of the implementation and success of the Farmers’ Association.
In addition, Intellolabs staff briefed farmers on the artificial intelligence that can be used in agriculture.
Over 50 farmers have participated in the workshop.
