Excise raid: 153 country-made liquor seized, four held

Nilagiri, April 23: Balasore excise department raided different localities here and seized 2000litre poach, 153 litres country-made liquor and two cycles. The officials said to have arrested four accused involved in this matter. The accused have been identified as Indra Manik of Sajanagarh locality, Umakant Satpathy of Kumudiha, Sanjukta Singh of Chandipur and Ramsai Majhi of Baulagadia. Sources said, a team led by excise OIC Hara Prasad Rana conducted a raid at Bhaliapusi locality and seized 2000 litre poach while the accused were absconded. Similarly, 22 litres of country-made liquor and a cycle were seized from Indra Manik and 21 litres of liquor and a cycle seized from Umakant Satpathy. As many as 110 litres of liquor was seized from Sanjukta Singh and Ramsai Majhi. Following which, five cases have been registered and the accused have been forwarded to court.
