Bhubaneswar, Sep 18: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Crime Branch on Monday conducted a raid on the office of Odia daily newspaper Sambad over loan fraud allegations.
The raid has been conducted based on the complaint of a former employee. The former employee has alleged that Sambad had siphoned lakhs of rupees under a loan sanction scheme, said sources.
The former employee had levelled loan fraud allegations against Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Sambad Editor and the Human Resources (HR) head of the media house. The complainant had alleged that the officials of the media house took a loan in his name without his knowledge.
On Sunday, the EOW officials quizzed the publisher of the media group, Kamalakant Mohapatra.
