Engineer sells train engine using fake documents in Bihar

Patna, Dec 28: In a unique yet illegal case, an engineer working for Indian Railway in Samastipur, Bihar had managed to sell an old steam engine lying at the Purnea Court Station. According to sources, the engineer Rajiv Ranjan Jha who was working at Samastipur Loco Diesel Shed was also aided by security personnel and other station officials. The expertly planned scam was executed on December 14 when the engineer with the help of his aide sold the railway asset along with forged DMI documents. However, the scam came to light after two days of the heist following which an FIR was registered on December 19 at the Banmankhi RPF post. Seven persons have been named in the FIR apart from the engineer and the security personnel posted at the shed. Authorities are now on the lookout for the accused while the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) has ordered the suspension of the engineer, the helper, and one security personnel posted at the diesel shed.
