Elephant trapped in well in Odisha, rescue operation underway

Digapahandi, Feb 2: An elephant fell into a well in Ganjam district on Saturday night. The incident happened when a herd of around 15 elephants were travelling towards Alarigarg forests from Digapahandi area in the district. The villagers came to the animal’s rescue as soon as they heard of it being trapped in a pit but in vain. {"id":25609,"sizeSlug":"large"} A team of 50 forest department employees rushed to the spot being informed about the incident and launched an operation to rescue the pachyderm. The rescue operation is underway for the last five hours with the help of crane.
