Malkangiri, Feb 1: A drunkard man slit his wife’s throat at Shanti Nagar of MV 72 village under the MV 79 police limits in Malkangiri district today. The deceased has been identified as Basanti Mistri while the police have arrested Bimal Mistri, the husband of the deceased. Bimal and Basanti were married for last two years and after marriage, Bimal used to get drunk regularly and thrash her wife. The husband was again drunk on Monday morning and had arguments with his wife. Subsequently, in an inebriated state Bimal slit his wife’s throat with a sharp edged weapon. On being informed, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem after arresting the accused.
