Drug peddlers tied, thrashed by locals in Balasore

Balasore, May 14: Two drug peddlers were tied to a pole and thrashed by villagers while trying to sell brown sugar at Udaypur under Talsari Marine Police Station in Balasore district on Saturday. Locals spotted the duo who came in a car from Digha in West Bengal to Udaypur and trying to sell brown sugar in their locality. On getting information, Talsari Marine Police reached the spot and took the duo into their custody. As many as 18 packets of brown sugar amounting to Rs 5 lakh have been seized from their possession. Police have also seized the car.
