Berhampur, June 2: In a tragic incident, the driver of a truck was killed after the vehicle fell off Tapatpani Ghati near Jokarapalli in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
The deceased driver has been identified as Suresh Kumar Guru, a resident of Sarpada in Nayagarh district.
As per reports, the mishap took place when the truck loaded with turmeric was on its way to Berhampur from Mohana area. The driver lost control of the vehicle, and ill-fated vehicle skidded off the road and fell off the Tapatpani Ghati.
Suresh was crushed to death under the truck.
Upon getting the information, Patapur police along with the fire fighters arrived at the scene and recovered his body. Subsequently, it was sent for autopsy.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
