Dr. Umakanta Mishra joins as editor of the ‘Sakala’

Bhubaneswar, Nov 30: Former Principal Director General of Press Information Bureau (PIB) Dr. Umakanta Mishra has joined as the editor of daily Odia newspaper the ‘Sakala’, scheduled to launch from December 1. Mishra, the Ex-Director General of DAVP joined the india Information Service in 1973 and served in various capacities with the Government of India for long 26 years. He has served as DG News AIR, Regional Director of Cuttack Film Censor Board, Director of Railways Communications Department and Head of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). Mishra, a PhD holder from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, has also worked with Vigilance Commission, Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry etc. After retirement, he worked as Advisor of ‘India News Group’ TV Channel and ‘Aaj Samaj’ Newspaper Group.
