Diwali Deepostav in Ayodhya: 12 lakh diyas illuminate this evening

Lucknow, Nov 3: Ayadhya is going to celebrate its historical   Diwali Deepostav, on Wednesday ahead of the Diwali. As many as 12 lakh of diyas are going to be lit in and around the Shree Ram shrine this evening, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Sources said, the traditional Deepotsav celebrations in Uttar Pradesh’s  Ayodhya district has begun on a grand scale on this evening. Spectacularly, this year’s function is going to set a new record before the Diwali as  the state government has decided to lighten up the holy city of Ayodhya with 12 lakh earthen lamps. Out of which, nine lakh diyas on the banks of the river Saryu. The nine lakhs earthen diyas will illuminate Ram Ki Paidi. The majestic ‘Ram Ki Paidi’ Ghat was dotted with colourful lights for the mega celebrations. The ghat is the main venue of Deepotsav celebrations which will be illuminated with nine lakhs earthen diyas on the eve of Diwali on Wednesday. Accordingly, the Ayodhya administration and the Uttar Pradesh Tourism department have mobilised 12,000 volunteers for the task of lighting diyas. Notably, Ayodhya administration is paving way to go for Guinness Book of World record of lighting diyas (earthen lamps) at Ram Ki Paidi on Wednesday.  Last year, over six lakh earthen lamps were lit during the “Deepotsav” to celebrate the festival, creating a world record. Deepotsav is being held for the fifth consecutive year and the scale of diyas is increasing with each celebration.
