The rare turtle has got diamond-shaped zigzag linings throughout its body. Besides, it is having fin-like beautiful front legs and straightened rear legs.

Sangita informed the Mancheswar Forest Range Officer regarding the turtle.

The Forest department released the turtle in a natural stream at Patrapada Herbal garden after its primary healthcare.

It is one of the rarest species of sweet water turtle commonly known as the Indian Star Turtle. It is illegally peddled for its medicinal value. At the same time, it is believed to rear it for good luck, said the Range officer, Bauribandhu Mohapatra.
