Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with a team of officers of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) visited the Shree Jagannath Temple at Puri to take stock of structural conditions of the shrine after the Cyclone Fani, which made landfall on the Puri coast on May 3.
Sources said, the ASI team will repair all damages caused to the Shreemandir during the very severe cyclonic storm. The ASI team will see all parts of the temple and take measures soon to repair damages, said an official.
It may be noted that the Fani had made landfall with a wind blow over 200 km per hour in which some branches of the holy “Kalpa Bata” (banyan tree). idol of Jaya, parts of Koili Baikuntha and a piece of Meghanada Pacheri (boundary wall) were affected. Besides, lighting system was affected in the storm.
