Khordha, July 21: As the outbreak of dengue has triggered panic among Bhubaneswar and Khordha residents, Khordha district collector Sanat Kumar Mohanty on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to discuss ways to tackle the rising cases. Bhubaneswar is now battling a vector-borne disease. The city saw a spike in the cases in July. The entomologists found the absence of adequate awareness among people. Though frequent spraying of disinfectants in the suspected zones and de-water mosquito larvae producing sites as a preventive measure has been carried out, still more than 150 dengue cases have been detected in Khordha district till Wednesday. Officials of district administration, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and Health department are also present in the meeting.
