Bhubaneswar: After the News7 TV channel reported about the incident of a Class-VIII girl of the Daringibadi Residential School delivering a baby girl, SC and ST Development Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi directed the Kandhamal district Collector to conduct a probe and submit a reort soon.
Stringent action would be taken against the culprits and others found guilty, said the Minister.
Meanwhile, the girl and the baby have been rushed to a hospital in view of their critical condition. The Daringibadi police are now interrogating the Headmistress on the incident.
Investigation will be done from different angles as to who is the person made the girl pregnant, why the girl was driven away from hostel after birth and other lapses on the part of school authorities.
Notably, it is not the first case of a residential girl getting pregnant in the State as many such incidences have been reported earlier. School authorities’ negligence has led to such incidents on many occasions.
