Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: The India Meteorological Department on Sunday said that the depression over the west-central Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm between October 23 and 25.
A depression has formed in the Bay of Bengal and it is likely to intensify into a deep depression during the next 24 hours. It may intensify further and become a cyclone storm between October 23 and 25, said IM DDG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.
Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Coastal Odisha and West Bengal, added Mohapatra.
The weather department has advised fishermen not to venture into West-Central Bay of Bengal till October 25 and along and off Odisha coast and North Bay of Bengal during October 24 to 26. Those who are already in sea have been advised to return to the coast.
