Cyclone Yaas victims protest in Balasore againt government apathy

Balasore, June 5: Cyclone Yaas victims today protested against government apathy in Balasore district. The protesters alleged lack of government assistance post Cyclone Yaas. People of Gandibeda area under Khaira tehsil in the district under the leadership of BJP spokesperson Thakur Ranjit Das locked RI office gate and detained four Revenue Inspectors (RI). Even 10 days after Cyclone Yaas, people are still struggling to settle down and start a normal life again. They are worried as monsoon is expected to arrive soon and that might make their situation worse. Worried over the situation, the cyclone affected families protested demanding government assistance and post cyclone aid. Later, the withdrew the demonstration after additional tehsildar and Khaira police reached the spot and pacified the agitators. They have also promised the beneficiaries to provide assistance within two days.
