Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: The remnants of Cyclone Jawad weakened early Monday morning into a well-marked low-pressure area, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. “The depression over northwest Bay of Bengal near north Odisha coast moved northeastwards and weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal, adjoining West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts at 5:30 am today. It’s likely to move northeastwards and weaken further into a low-pressure area during the next six hours,” the IMD said. Under its influence light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of north coastal Odisha and at isolated places over the rest of Odisha.
