Cuttack, Aug 5: The Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA) is set to host the three-day 5th State Inter School TT Championship at Biju Patnaik Indoor Hall, CDA Sector 7 in Cuttack from August 12 and 14.
The championship will have two categories - Junior (up to class VIII) and Senior (from class IX to XII) separately for both boys and girls. Students studying under different board in Odisha are eligible to participate in the championship, stated OSTTA Organising Secretary Rabindra Kumar Parida on Monday.
In the team events, minimum two and maximum four players can participate. The winners of all categories would be rewarded with trophies, cash prizes and certificates, Parida added.
Apart from the three-day school level championship, Biju Patnaik Indoor Hall, CDA Sector 7 in Cuttack would also host another annual major TT tourney like previous years, the OSTTA Secretary informed.
Elaborating further about the event, he informed that the Young Generation Table Tennis Association (YGTTA) would host the three-day 29th YGTTA State Ranking TT Championship 2024 from August 15 to 17 at CDA Indoor Hall, Cuttack. The championship would be played with 12 separate singles categories for men and women.
Players from all districts, educational institutions and associations can take part in the three-day event. The YGTTA State Ranking TT Championship is approved by the OSTTA and performance of players in the championship is taken into account while seeding and selecting players for various categories to represent Odisha in national level events. The last date for sending names for both the TT tournaments will be August 8, Parida added.
