Cuttack, July 21: The SCB Medical College and Hospital administration has divided the hospital into four blocks to provide better healthcare service to patients. The administration has appointed four Hospital Managers for proper management of each block. They are entrusted to find out the problems and inform to authorities. Besides, the managers are empowered to take necessary actions to facilitate better patient care. According to hospital sources, the first block involves casualty, trauma, and general surgery departments. There are 506 beds – 63 ICU beds and 443 general beds in these three departments. Similarly, the second block has been named as Special Block which includes departments of gastro-entero surgery, endocrine surgery, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, urology, plastic surgery, and burning unit. There are a total of 456 beds in these departments – 88 ICU and 368 general. The third block has been named Super Special Medicine Block which consists of Neurology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, gastroenterology, haematology, hepatology, rheumatology, and cardiology departments. There are a total of 496 beds in these departments – 67 ICU and 429 general. The fourth block has been named General Medicine Block which includes 600 beds – 48 ICU and 552 general. Besides, special arrangements have been made for Gynaecology and pulmonary medicine departments.
