Cuttack Nagar Mahila Congress chief arrested with 18 others for vandalising ATM during Bandh

Cuttack, Dec 8: Badambadi police today arrests 19 Congress workers including 12 women on charges of vandalising ATM during Bharat Bandh today. Police said that Cuttack Nagar Mahila Congress chief Giribala Behera is also among the arrested. Farmers supported by different political parties and trade unions today observed Bandh as part of protest against new farm laws enacted by the Centre. The Congress observed the Bandh in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar by stppoing vehicles on the National Highway and other roads in the twin cities. Police said that the protesters led by Behera barged in to the ATMN despite police warning and later vandalised the ATM kiosk. “We are also trying to identify others involved in the act,” said a police official.
