Cuttack, Dec 4: The Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Subash Singh has written to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik requesting an extension of the ongoing Bali Yatra 2023.
In his communication to the Chief Minister, the CMC Mayor has fervently appealed for a two-day extension of the annual Bali yatra Cuttack Festival, 2023. The festival, initially scheduled from November 27, 2023, to December 4, 2023, has been proceeding smoothly and with discipline, thanks to the collaborative efforts of various departments.

These departments are diligently overseeing their respective activities within the Baliyatra ground, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the public. The festival has seen active participation from the public, with vendors successfully selling their goods, and all necessary support being extended by the concerned departments.
Highlighting the positive atmosphere at Baliyatra, where more than 500 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have set up stalls to showcase and sell their handmade items, Mayor Singh emphasized the overwhelming demand from the public, SHGs, commercial vendors, and other participants associated with Baliyatra for an extension of two additional days on December 5, 2023, and December 6, 2023.
Mayor Singh expressed, "I would therefore request your good Office to kindly consider the sentiment of the public as well as the Commercial Venders and your honour may kindly be extend another 2(two) days, 5th Dec.2023 & 6th Dec.2023 of Baliyatra Cuttack Festival, 2023 for the interest of all concerned.”
