Bhubaneswar, Sept 7: The Commissionerate Police (CP) has fixed a Rs 200 fee per day for the use of loudspeakers during this festival season starting from Ganesh Puja on September 19.
The license department of the DCP office has directed the Puja Committees of the city to deposit money @ Rs 200 per day for playing loudspeakers otherwise the enforcement team of CP will seize the music systems.
However, Puja Committee members are facing problems in obtaining permission due to the lack of a single window system for all the required permissions for organizing Pujas.
The Puja Committees have to submit a Rs 100 court paper with details regarding the number of days of the celebration including immersion day, and cultural programs with the signature of a Notary.
The photocopy of the Aadhar card of the applicant will have to be attached to the bond paper. After that, the licensing department of CP will ask to obtain NOC from four departments – local police, fire department, BMC, and power department depositing fees at BMC and electricity office.
Besides, the applicant has to deposit a Rs 100 license fee along with a loudspeaker charge of Rs 200 per day.
It is taking over five days to obtain a license from the CP after running from post to pillar to get NOC from four departments.
