Kendrapara, Sept 1: Body of the missing cowherd who was dragged by crocodile on Thursday, has been recovered after 24 hours of the incident.
The body was found near Mania Ghat of Brahmani River, said sources.
According to the report, One Bhaskar Rout of Rajpur village of the district was dragged by a crocodile and was missing since Thursday. However, his body was recovered a day after the incident. The incident occurred when Bhaskar was grazing his buffaloes on the Brahmani River bed. The crocodile dragged him to the dip water.
Worth mentioning, this is the fifth incident of crocodile attack in the past three months.
On August 16 August, a woman named Jyotsna Jena of Patapur area under Bari block of Jajpur district was dragged and killed by a crocodile. The incident occurred while Jena had gone to Birupa River to wash clothes. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
On July 28, an elderly man identified as Amulya Das from Pattamundai of Kendrapara district was killed in a crocodile attack in Brahmani River.
On June 29, another elderly man identified as Gangadhar Tarai of Gagaradaha village was dragged by a crocodile.
