Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: In a continuous drive against narcotics business inside the twin city, Commissionerate police on Monday arrested four drug traffickers and seized 130 kg ganja worth Rs 13 Lakh from their possession.
The Narcotics wing of the Special Crime Unit under the leadership of Sanjeev Satpathy and team members were continuously monitoring activities of an organized gang of drug traffickers for the last 15 days. As per information, the traffickers were procuring huge quantities of Ganja from Kandhamal and are keeping the same in a godown, located in Indira Housing Colony.
Out of the four accused persons arrested, three of them are from Kandhamal area and one from Bhubaneswar. All these accused persons in a criminal conspiracy, had taken a house on rent in Indira Housing Colony,Lingipur, under Dhauli PS which was used by the culprits as a temporary godown, where they would keep the Ganja in turn to supply it to Kolkata.
Two accused persons such as Chandan Ku Prusty and Anil Ku Digal have their own cars which have been seized during investigation , which they were using to transport the contraband from Kandhamal and after keeping it for a temporary period, they would again shift the narcotics in their own cars to Kolkata.
