Boudh, April 21: Boudh District Administration is going to launch Oxy-tourism campaign under the banner of ‘Come Boudh for fresh Oxygen’ soon. This campaign is meant for organising as many as 27 pre-existing tourist spots with historical, religious and mythological significance. Management of the oxy tourism spots will be handed over to local Self Help Groups (SHGs) for their financial inclusion, said a District official. According to the new initiative, two eco-villages are to be set up at Sitalpani under Harabhanga block and Dambargada forest under Boudh block. In addition, a green habitat of around 1507 acres is being developed eco-friendly for fascinating overseas tourists. Tourist sites including Kumbhidhar waterfall, Damkucha dam, Saradikhol Rajabasa waterfall, Maa Bhairabi temple,Water body of Nuapada, Naikpara cave, Nandanban at Biranarsinghapur, Shyamsunderpur and Pargalpur Buddhist monastery and Ladukeswar temple are being developed. Similarly, many spots of Boudh and Kantamal block have been taken up in the project to develop them from tourism point of view.
