<strong>College girl crafts best out of waste: Achieves International Book of records</strong>

Cuttack, May 25: A college girl of Cuttack has achieved International Book of Records by crafting dolls and puppets out of the scraps and wastes. Apart from her hobby, she meets her expenses of education and strengthen the financial backbone of the family by her puppet making skills, from the student hood. The girl is Supriya Kumari, a native of Sikharpur Upar Sahi in the Cuttack town who is now an inspiration for the girls for her uncommon ideas,innovation and creativity. {"id":186736,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} Supriya who is a student of the JKBK College, Cuttack is now a pride for her institution as she has been placed in the International Book of Records for her best craft, a 8- centimeter Ganesh statue, made up of household waste. Supriya as a member of a poor trucker’s family, struggled hard for her education as her father became jobless after an accident and her mother hardly managed the family from tailoring. Supriya continued her study, earning money by making soft-toys and puppets of her own. She prepared them from the no cost wastes which are generally dumped or disposed of without any use. Fortunately, her low cost dolls and soft-toys clicked the market for their innovative look and her uncommon ideas. It fetched a good pocket money to Supriya which was in time utilized for her study from Class 10 to +3 degree. As the soft-toy business expanded more, she assisted her mother from her own earnings to meet the household expenses. {"id":186737,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} Expressing pleasure over Supriya’s excellence and confidence on her creativity, her mother Suman Devi said that Supriya has redefined the identity of the family earning sizable amount from her own creativity, by supplementing her in taking the financial burden of the family from a tender age.
