Bhubaneswar, Jan 13: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated as many 327 schools in 6 districts, transformed under the 5T initiatives.
The schools which were virtually inaugurated in the afternoon today, include 35 schools in Malkangiri, 76 in Balasore, 28 in Gajapati, 63 in Dhenkanal, 45 in Keonjhar and 80 transformed schools in the Cuttack district.
A total of 1,794 schools across the state will be covered in this phase of the transformation programme. In the earlier phases, at least 6,883 schools were developed with the intervention of the 5T initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the government has taken up the transformation of schools, colleges, tourist places, temples, mutts and hospitals as part of the government’s efforts to build a prosperous Odisha.
“Schools play an important role in deciding the future of the nation. Education shows the way for society to develop and progress. Hence, the government emphasizes transformations of schools and other institutions,” he said.
Equipped with smart classrooms, computers, and laboratories with the latest equipment, the transformed schools offer an ideal environment for the students for learning, Naveen added.
