Bhubaneswar: Passengers of Bhubaneswar-Bangolore Visakha Express had a close shave on Saturday when the engine of the train got detached from the bogies near Balugaon railway station in Khurda district.
As per an East Coast Railway (ECoR) communiqué, the (17015) Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Visakha Express arrived Balugaon at 10.21 am on Saturday. When it departed the station at 10.23 am Loco Pilot informed that pressure is being dropped to pull train. On checking, it is found that train uncoupled between AC-2 tier and S-1 coach. This is eighth from engine.
“This is recoupled and started at 11 am and again checked at 11.10 am between Balugaon and Chilka by Coach Maintenance Staff and left spot at 11.42 am. There is no affect to passengers,” it said.
“This appears to be on account of a defect in a particular locking arrangement joining two coaches,” it added.
