Baripada, August 23: The City Mission Manager of Baripada Municipality was held on Wednesday for allegedly receiving a bribe from the office bearers of a Self Help Group (SHG).
Based on a complaint lodged in this connection, the Baripada Police apprehended the manager in the afternoon.
According to the complaint, a group of woman SHG members had approached the Mission Manager to allot an Ahar Centre to manage it. However, he allegedly demanded a sizeable amount for it, as a bribe. Accordingly, he received the bribe amount from the SHG members and landed in soup.
