Cinema halls in Odisha to operate from January 1 with 50 per cent seating capacity

Bhubaneswar, Dec 30: The Odisha government today allowed opening of cinema halls and theatres from January 1 with 50% capacity. A notification in this regard was today published by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC). As per the notification cinema halls and theatres can operate as per SOP issued by the Government of India/ State Government. “ Open air theatres/ jatras/ entertainment parks shall be permitted by the local authorities (District Magistrate/ Municipal Commissioner or officers authorized by them) to open subject to compliance of safety protocols such as mandatory wearing of face masks, physical distancing,” read the notification. Besides the Department of School & Mass Education has also been authorised to take appropriate decision with regard to the date of re-opening of schools under its control in a graded manner in consultation with relevant stakeholders and with necessary guidelines/ SOP. The Department of Higher Education has been authorized to take appropriate decision with regard to the date of re-opening of colleges/ higher Education institutions under its control in consultation with the relevant stakeholders and by following the guidelines/ SOP issued by UGC / AICTE / Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
