Child line rescues corona affected orphan in Cuttack

Cuttack, June 7: Child line Cuttack rescued a corona affected minor girl after her parents’ death in Corona at Choudwar on Sunday. She has been sheltered at a child care home after rescuing her from distress. The minor girl has been identified as Rukmini Biswal (15), daughter of Narayan Biswal. Sources said, Narayan Biswal, an employee of Odisha Secretariat was staying in a rented house near Choudwar Birat bazaar. Meanwhile, he succumbed to Corona on May 22 while his wife Sarojini also died of the virus on June 4 under treatment. At the same time, their only minor daughter Rukmini tested Corona positive. Subsequently,Rukmini became lonely after her parent’s death. On the other hand, no neighbour or relative came forward to help her due to corona scare. As a result, she lived without any medical care, food and water living in a distressed condition. Being informed by the Anganawadi worker Swapnamayee Swain, the Child line Coordinator Narayan Sukla rushed to the spot and recovered the stranded minor from the home who was left unattended since days. She has been kept in a Child Care home in isolation after primary health checkup. She will be put up before the District Child Welfare Board soon for her permanent rehabilitation, said Sukla.
