<strong>Charged cable falls off pole, 7 critical in Dhenkanal</strong>

Dhenkanal, Sept 18: At least 7 including three minors sustained critical burn injuries in Dhenkanal after a span of an 11 KV charged cable fell off its pole on Sunday. The mishap took place at the Sainbiri village under the Dhenkanal Sadar police limit today. Sources said, the 11 KV power line, along the Sainbiri village road broke away all of a sudden and triggered fire in a hay-stack and caused a massive damage of electrical appliances. Subsequently, it charged the domestic wires and as many as 7 came in contact with it. As a result, they became critical following electrocution. They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital for treatment. On being informed, police and the TPCDOL officials rushed to the spot to restore power supply in the village. Meanwhile, the aggrieved locals detained the official vehicle of the TPCDOL demanding compensation for the losses.
