Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today said that the sudden action of the central investigating agency in Odisha just before panchayat elections in 2017 and now before general elections smacks of “unprofessional conduct and coloured with political motives”.
The response of the party came pertaining to the developments relating to the CBI in West Bengal.
“Institutional integrity has to be restored after all this infighting. We are a mature democracy and professionalism should be maintained in these issues. Even in Odisha sudden action of CBI just before panchayat elections in the past and now before general elections smacks of unprofessional conduct and coloured with political motives,” said the statement.
Recently, ahead of Loka Sabha and Assembly elections in the State the CBI also summoned two BJD MLAs – Arun Sahoo and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak – in connection with the chit fund scam after four and half years it began the probe questioning many eyebrows.
