Car hits bike: Teacher dies in Mayurbhanj

Baripada, April 10: A teacher met a tragic end in Mayurbhanj after a speeding car hit his bike on Sunday. The mishap took place at Asana square under the Bisoi police limit. The deceased has been identified as Purna Chandra Behera, a native of Kailisuta village. Sources said, Behera dropped her daughter at the Asana bus stop and was crossing the National Highway in the afternoon. Meanwhile, a Tata Indigo car hit his bike violently and he was thrown on the road. He was rushed immediately to the Manada hospital by locals for resuscitation. However, he succumbed to injuries during treatment. Being informed police visited the spot and seized the body from the hospital for an autopsy. At the same time, the car was intercepted near Jashipur and the alleged driver was detained.
