Keonjhar, May 6: Chhattisgarh police, who had come to Odisha to rescue a kidnapped minor girl, went back with an empty hand despite getting the accused and the victim at hand. The appeals of the tender girl and his beloved one who hails from Odisha, have made the police team return with no action. Such an incident took place at Joda slum under the Joda police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district. Sources said Rohit, an orphan of the Joda area came in contact with a minor girl of Sitapur under the Sitapur police limit in Chhattisgarh through Instagram. As the relationship intensified, the minor girl came to Joda via Rourkela and lived with Rohit. Getting the girl nowhere after a frantic search, the girl’s parents lodged a missing complaint which was later turned into a case of kidnap, when a police investigation revealed the presence of the girl with Rohit in Odisha. Acting on it, a team of the Chhattisgarh police came to rescue the minor girl and intercept the accused, who is also a minor pursuing his study in class X. However, it was not possible on the part of the Chhattisgarh police to take appropriate action since the locals protest the arrest of the minor boy ahead of his matriculation examination. At the same time, the minor girl also did not allow the police team to part her beloved from her for a moment. Finding no way out, the police team took the assistance of the Joda police to move with the lovebirds to Chhatisgarh, but in vain. At the same time, the earnest appeals of the two minors created a pathetic environment on the premises of the police station following which the locals intervened in the matter. They also joined their hands with the duo, out of kindness, and did not let the visiting police team to take back the victim and the accused to Chhattisgarh, in order to hand over the minor girl to her parents.
