Cuttack, July 15: Bamboo shoulder pole (Bahungi) is not allowed for the Bol Bom(Kaudia) devotees into the Dhabaleswar shrine in Odisha’s Cuttack district this year. The Cuttack district administration issued a notification in this connection on Friday. The notification issued by the Sub-Collector Cuttack, Hemant Swain read the Bol bom Yatra is going to begin from the coming Monday(July 17). The district admin has made elaborate arrangements for it in view of the unprecedented gathering of the Kaudias, after almost two years. In order to control the crowd and get rid of the traffic situations in and around the shrine, carrying shoulder poles(bahungi) made up of bamboo or wood into the sanctum sanctorum of the Dhabaleswar temple has been banned. However, the kaudias can carry it up to the hanging bridge with the water-filled pitchers. Thereafter, they will put the bamboo poles at a particular place, scheduled by the temple administration.
