Boat capsizes in Andhra Pradesh: Five fishermen go missing in Bay of Bengal

Bhubaneswar, Sep 26: Five fishermen from Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district went missing after their boat capsized in the Bay of Bengal due to the Gulab, on Sunday. The incident took place near the Mandasa coast in the evening. Sources said, the fishermen fell in the sea after strong waves hit their boat off Mandasa coast while returning from the sea due to the Gulab scare.Subsequently,they were carried away into the deep sea by high tides. Being informed, police, fire brigades and NDRF teams rushed to the spot and initiated a rescue operation. Operation is underway.However, the rescuers have not got any clue regarding the missing ones so far, said, Sub Inspector, Vajrapukotturu Police Station, Govinda Rao.
