Bhubaneswar, Sept 15: Blue Book security is in place at capital city Bhubaneswar ahead of the Prime Minister Narandra Modi’s Odisha visit scheduled on September 17.
As per Ministry of Home Affairs protocols, a contingent of the Special Protection Group(SPG) will control the entire security blanket for the PM’s program.
As many as 8 SPG officers have inspected the ground-level security arrangements made by the state Home Department. The state intelligence Bureau, Crime Branch, SOG and Armed Police wings have unitedly beefed up their efforts, as the PM’s program is getting nearer.
With the PM’s program scheduled a day after tomorrow, the Odisha Police in collaboration with the Commissionerate of Police have mobilized over 50 platoons of police force for the Janata Maidan and across the city to ensure fool-proof security arrangements for the PM.
Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and DGP YB Khurania today reviewed the security arrangements at Janata Maidan.
According to the DGP, 50 officers will manage security and control crowd whereas electronics surveillance will be arranged for the programme.
According to Commissionerate Police sources, the security arrangements have been already beefed up right from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) and along the route to Janata Maidan. Barricades for crowd management and better security, are being made along the entire route from the Airport to the Janata Maidan, through which the PM’s carcade is scheduled to move as per the SPG contingent’s blueprint.
