Kalinganagar, March 29: A blood donation drive was organised by Employee Relations Forum, Iron Making & Logistics, Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) in association with District Headquarter Hospital, Jajpur Town and Government Blood Bank, Jajpur Road at Occupational Health Centre within the plant premises at Kalinganagar on Tuesday. Despite the scorching heat of summer, employees voluntarily lined up to donate blood during the whole day. A total of 156 units of blood were collected through the programme. The blood donation drive was inaugurated by C L Karn, Chief, Logistics Operations, TSK who is also the Chairman of Iron making & Logistics Employee Relations Forum. Among others present on the occasion were senior officials of Tata Steel Kalinganagar and members of Iron making & Logistics Employee Relations Forum, TSK. Speaking about the blood donation drive, C L Karn said, “We are glad to organize a camp like this, it helps people in need of blood at the blood bank. It is a life-saving move and an attempt to give back to the society and help the needy.”
