Berhampur, April 19: Blasting in a stone crusher located at Kukudakhandi-Naidupalli in Berhampur claimed two lives today. As many as four labourers were injured in the mishap. Sources said a sudden blast took place in the crushing site with a violent sound. As a result, one died at the spot while another died in Kukudakhandi hospital during treatment. Four critically injured were referred to Berhampur Medical on need. However, the identity of the deceased is yet to be established. Being informed, Kukudakhandi police ventured to the spot and initiated investigation. Meanwhile, police seized the bodies and sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway to establish the cause behind blasting. However, explosives meant for detonation is suspected to be stored by the crusher.
