Without completely ruling out the possible BJD-BJP alliance in Odisha in the upcoming general election, he said that the ball is yet in the court of the PM and the National President.
Speaking at India Today Conclave 2024 in the evening on Friday Shah said, PM Modi and BJP National President JP Nadda have not cleared their roadmaps on the alliance-proposal in Odisha. Thus, it’s so far under consideration whether the BJP will go solo or tie an alliance with the regional party here.

“I can’t speak about this right now as the top party leaderships are yet to decide on it. But whatever is the result, we would gain a significant position in both the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Odisha this time.” ,he added.
Responding to a query, whether it is philosophically possible for a tie-up between the ruling BJD and No. 1 opposition party in the State, Shah said “We are doing hardcore politics in which there is no place of philosophy. It is the arithmetic of victory and defeat. We have to strike a balance between winnability and ideology while choosing an ally-like equation.”
