Bhubaneswar Durga Puja 2024: Vatican City replica pandal at Palasuni

Bhubaneswar, Sept 21: As Durga Puja is round the corner, the Palasuni Durga Puja Committee is preparing for a grand celebration with a Vatican City theme.

This year's centerpiece will stand at 50 feet tall, with a base measuring 85 feet, and will feature a newly crafted crown for the goddess.

They are celebrating their 40 years of the committee. The committee plans to spend over Rs 35 lakh to create a vibrant and unique experience across all puja pandals in the capital city. Devotees will enjoy a variety of offerings, including the traditional Khichdi on Dashami.

A highlight of the celebration will be the 15 kg crown that will adorn the heads of the deities Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, accompanied by elaborate decorations throughout the eight-day festivities.

More than 1500 devotees are expected to participate in the prasad distribution. To ensure safety, the puja pandal will be monitored by 15 CCTV cameras, with the Commissionerate Police collaborating with 50 personnel for effective crowd management and traffic control. Traditional music and melodies will further enhance the festive atmosphere, reflecting the cultural significance of this cherished occasion.
