Bharat bandh: Normal life partially affected in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: Normal life was partially affected in parts of Odisha as the farmer outfits on Friday observed a Bharat Bandh. Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), a united front of farmer outfits in the country, has given this call, which was supported by the Odisha unit of Congress and left parties in the state. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of various party leaders at Congress Bhawan on September 15. Leaders of CPI, RJD, Samajwadi Party and NCP were present at that meeting. The protesters staged road blockade and rail blockade at various places across the state, including capital city Bhubaneswar. They also held picketing in front of government offices, public places, market places. Earlier, the Odisha government has asked its employees of major offices in Bhubaneswar to reach office by 9.30 am on that day. The state government has advised Secretaries of all the departments to ask their officers and employees working at the Lok Seva Bhawan, Kharavela Bhawan, Rajiv Bhawan and the heads of departments to reach office at least by 9.30 a.m. on the day of the protest to facilitate their smooth entry
