Bhubaneswar, Feb 11: In a significant development to the murder case of a woman, who’s beheaded body was found recently, the Commissionerate Police on Thursday said that the murder was a fallout of marital discord.
Addressing media persons the City police Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said that the victim has been identified as Puspalata Roul (28) of Dhirkut slum in Bhubaneswar.
Sarangi further said that the accused have been identified as Sanjay and his friend Chandu of Ganjam district.
“Sanjay strangled Puspalata to death on February 3 and later dumped the body with the help of Chandu. After killing Puspalata, the duo took the body to a forest near Daspur in an SUV and chopped off the head before fleeing to Daspalla.” said the CP.
Earlier in the day, the Commissionerate Police arrested two persons in connection with recover of beheaded body of the woman on the city outskirts on February 4.
Police also conducted crime scene reconstruction to illustrate detailed of the murder.
The beheaded body of the woman was found lying along the Adharua-Daspur road under Chandaka police limits in Bhubaneswar.
Locals spotted the body beside the Bharatpur-Chandaka Road near Dasapur village in the morning and had alerted the police.
