Bhubaneswar, Feb 27: Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Bus Terminal, Baramunda will be inaugurated on March 1 by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, said Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).
The pending works are being carried out in full-swing by the BDA ahead of the inauguration. The beautification work has been completed and the lighting work is on the last leg. Some senior officials of BDA will visit the bus terminal before trial run.
The Bus terminal will be fully automated with installation of radio frequency identification at gate.
Modern facilities like restaurants, pick-up and drop-off points, shops and bazaars, toilets and bathrooms have been established in the bus stand.
As many as 144 bus bays have been constructed at the bus stand. The facility is now hosting about 700-800 buses daily.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday announced to set up a police outpost with 89 personnel at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Bus Terminal.
