Assembly adjourned till 4 pm due to Congress uproar in the House; party MLAs stage dharna outside

Bhubaneswar, March 30: Congress legislators today caused uproar during the discussion on the adjournment motion on the law and order situation in the assembly today. They later staged a dharna near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi outside the legislature. Congress MLAs caused the uproar when Minister of State for Home Divyasankar Mishra rose to respond the adjournment motion moved by the opposition. They objected to the reply being given by Captain Mishra alleging that he was involved in a number of crimes including the murder of school teacher Mamita Meher and cameraman Manas Swain. They demanded reply to be given by Parliament Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh. However, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro ignored the plea. He allowed MOS, Captain Mishra to give the reply. Irate over the development, Congress legislators raised uproar which forced the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings of the House till 4 pm. Later, Congress MLAs marched to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi outside the assembly hall and staged a dharna there. They also lodged their protest before the Governor.
