Balangir, Jan 1: Balangir SP has suspended one Assistant Sub-Inspector of Sindhekela police station on Saturday, for allegedly being involved in the burglary of goats. The police ASI has been identified as Suman Mallik. Acting on a law and order situation caused duo the incident, SP has put Mallik under suspension. Sources said, staff of Sindhekela police station allegedly killed two goats of a farmer for their feast. ASI Mallik had persuaded his subordinates of the illegal act. Following this, the farmer lodged a complaint regarding it and demanded compensation against it. However, the police did not respond to him, rather detained him for a long time. Aggrieved over it, the locals gheraoed the police station and threatened to aggravate the protest as their grievance was not addressed.
