Another ICDS supervisor arrested for taking bribe in Odisha

Sambalpur, Nov 27: Vigilance sleuths today arrested an ICDS supervisor working under Jayantpur sector in Sambalpur district on charges of demanding and accepting bribe. Vigilance sleuths said that the accused identified as Sulochana Arka has demanded bribe of Rs 13,500 from one anganwadi worker for issue of winter clothing and dry food items for distribution among beneficiaries at anganwadi centres. Accordingly, a trap was laid on Saturday and the accused was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance. “The bribe money was recovered from the possession of the accused. In this connection, a case has been registered and further investigation is continuing,” said an official. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the properties of Arka at two places in Sambalpur district.
