<strong>Another elephant carcass recovered from Athgarh forest in Odisha</strong>

Cuttack, June 27: Another elephant carcass has been recovered from Odisha’s Athgarh forest on Monday. Forest officials have initiated an investigation after the skeletal remains was spotted in the Mandap reserve forest under the Gopapur Section and Badamba range. Sources said that the locals of Mandap informed the Badamba range officials after they spotted a heap of skeletal remains of an animal in the nearby forest. Acting on it, a team of forest officials rushed to the spot and found that the skeletal remains were of an adult elephant. Following this, the the carcass was recovered and postmortem of it was carried by a team of veterinarians. Worth mentioning, a number of carcasses have been recovered from the Athgarh forest by the Special Task Force(STF) within a few months. A number of forest officials have been suspended and a scores of wildlife poachers have been held in this connection.
